Dev Diary #10: PvP Overhaul – New Features and Changes Incoming

Greetings, time-travelers!

We’ve listened to your feedback and understand that getting into PvP should be easier and more rewarding. With that in mind, we’re making a series of changes aimed at streamlining the experience and giving you more opportunities to engage in epic battles with less hassle. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a newcomer, these updates will make PvP more accessible and exciting than ever before.

1. Daily Call to Arms:
Starting soon, we’re introducing a Daily Call to Arms feature! Every day, a different battleground will be selected for this special event. Participate in the daily chosen battleground for a chance to earn bonus rewards and honor points.

Note: Weekends will remain as they have been, with the usual battleground rotation.

This feature will run until Wrath of the Lich King, at which point we’ll assess its impact and decide whether to keep it active beyond that.

2. Seasonal PvP Rewards:
To keep things fresh and exciting, we are implementing the following changes to the seasonal reward system:

• Season 1 (S1): Gear will be available for gold to help you achieve victory.
• Season 2 (S2): Gear will be available for honour points to align with the current season’s progression.
• Season 3 (S3): Discounts will be made available earlier than usual, so you can start enjoying those rewards before the season ends. More information on when it will become available should be provided soon.

3. Group Queue Experiment:
We are experimenting with the Group Queue system, allowing you to team up with friends and queue together for battlegrounds. This feature is currently under testing and we’ll closely monitor its effects on balance.

If the Group Queue continues to cause unbalanced teams, we’ll disable it and reassess the feature.
