Dear Time Travelers,
We continually review numerous suggestions and strive to implement as many as possible. While it’s challenging to read, assess, and act on every idea, we’re excited to announce the launch of new arena PvP features, the start of Arena Season 3 and adjustments to PvP prices.
Arena 3v3 Solo Queue
You can now create a 3v3 Solo Queue arena team and participate in 3v3 Solo Queue matches.
How does it work?
- Players can join a 3v3 Solo Queue arena (rated or unrated) as part of a temporary team for each match.
- Behind the scenes, each player will have a single personal 3v3 Solo Queue rating.
- You can join rated or unrated 3v3 Solo Queue matches through the NPC or by using the command .qsolo rated/unrated.
- Personal ratings and statistics will be available via our ArenaStats or in-game through the NPC’s “Show statistics” option.
- Additionally, the NPC will show if there are any players currently queued for the rated 3v3 Solo Queue.
Participating in 3v3SoloQ will reward you with arena points if you complete the required match, with points starting to be rewarded at the start of Season 3, with the team treating this as a Beta test until then.
Note: 3v3 Solo Queue is entirely separate from standard 3v3.
Arena 1v1
Similar to the 3v3 Solo Queue, you can now create a 1v1 arena team and join rated or unrated 1v1 matches.
Players from level 10+ can enter a 1v1 arena (rated or unrated) either through the NPC or by using the command .q1v1 rated/unrated.
Personal ratings and statistics will be accessible through our ArenaStats or in-game via the NPC’s “Show statistics” gossip option.
We are currently looking into the impact of the 1vs1 arena in terms of rewards with a decision to be made regarding AP and other arena rewards, with the team treating this as a Beta test until then.
Arena Spectator
You can already spectate arenas using the .spect command, but with this NPC, you’ll be able to view all ongoing arenas, both rated and unrated.
Arena replay
This NPC lets you watch any arena match from the past 30 days. You can also save specific matches to a dedicated list, ensuring they won’t be deleted after 30 days.
IMPORTANT: This NPC is still under development. We strongly advise against watching replays using a character that participated in the match—please use a different character instead.
Show Queues
For the sake of completeness, we’ve included the Show Queues NPC in the list of arena NPCs. This NPC displays the current battleground and arena queues.
You can also view all queues using the following commands:
- .queue show bg
- .queue show arena normal
- .queue show arena rated
NPC Locations
These NPCs will be available in:
- Shattrath City, next to the other arena NPCs
- Stormwind, next to the PvP vendor area in Old Town
- Orgrimmar, next to the PvP vendor area in Valley of Strength
Arena Season 3 and PvP price adjustments
Arena Season 2 will end on Wednesday, 23rd October. Discounted S2 gear will be available in the off-season between the 23rd – 30th October.
We have also made adjustments to the cost of all honor gear which will be live upon the ending of Arena Season 2 as per the work done by Bench on the price changes.
Arena Season 3 will commence on the 30th October and will run until the release of Sunwell Plateau, which marks the start of Season 4 a short time after the raid release. A full honor, AP and BG marks reset will take place upon the start of the new season.
Low level battleground starting numbers
As a reminder, all non-endgame battlegrounds have had their starting number requirements lowered to 2vs2. This change will make it easier for lower-level players to join any Battleground and take advantage of Chromiecraft’s special XP bonus, which is always available in all BGs, starting from level 10.
Endgame Battlegrounds are not affected by this change and will still require the same number of players to start. Please note that Alterac Valley 51-60 will also become available in 2v2, but it is not advised to play this BG with such a low number of players. We suggest avoiding queueing for AV at lower levels unless you have a big group of people ready to join with you. AV 61-70 will keep its original requirements as it is currently an endgame BG. As a reminder statistics for all BGs across all level brackets are available at: https://chromiecraft.com/apps/pvpstats/
