Dear Time Travelers,
We’ve reached a major milestone: Azerothcore is now ten years old, having begun in mid‑2016. The purpose behind its creation remains just as strong today. Open‑source, free to use and free to enjoy for as long as possible.
In December 2020, we launched Chromiecraft with that same philosophy, aiming to develop the core as effectively as possible and ensuring every fix is available to the entire community rather than hidden behind closed doors, only to disappear forever when those projects inevitably shut down.
What’s also lost, however, are the countless hours of fun, memories, and hard work poured into those characters should the server close. Why shouldn’t you be able to keep a copy of your own characters? And why couldn’t you simply load up a local Azerothcore installation to preserve and enjoy your character, truly forever?
Well, as of the 25th October 2026, you now can. Introducing our fully automated-player dump (pdump) feature, free to use for everybody on our account manager! Start by going to your character list, then simply click on the export button, click confirm and you will be able to download your own characters to load into your own instance of Azerothcore.
A couple of things to mention around this feature:
– Horde characters will default to Orgrimmar
– Alliance characters will default to Stormwind
– Any character with another race or faction outside of the above will go to Booty Bay. This guarantees a character will be able to be loaded if you play on another Azerothcore server that uses modules to create more classes.
– You can create a pdump of your entire account every 3 months. Individual character pdumps can be done once a month.
– Any and all forms of personal identifiable information (PII) is striped from the pdump when being generated.
– You can review the feature on Github here
