Top Contributors of August 2026

These are the statistics for the open-source development activity of our project, featuring the Top Contributors of August 2026.

All code has been released to the public under the GPLv2 license as part of the AzerothCore project, in line with our philosophy.

All the volunteers will be compensated with Chromie Points for their contributions. Would you like to become a contributor? Read this.

Testers & code reviewers

Unfortunately, there is no (automated) way to count the work of people who help with testing PRs and code reviews, but we want to express our gratitude to all testers and PR reviewers. Your contribution is vital to our project, so thank you very much for what you do.

Fancy joining the team and helping us make Azerothcore the best we can? All details how you can apply for a formal role on the team is here

Read our latest Dev Diary for more information about these and future raid releases! Ulduar is launching on the 9th September, a huge thank you to all the guilds who took the time to organise PTR runs and assist with ongoing fixes to the raid, we couldn’t do it without you all.

Community updates

We are exceptionally proud of our community being one of the most welcoming and respectful for all players in the gaming world. Over the past few months, the staff team have put in well over 100 hours or more tackling the issue of Real Money Trade (RMT). We have enhanced our tools to root out both gold sellers and buyers, and enact permanent bans on their accounts.
Hundreds of accounts have been banned so far, including the gold sellers, the bots that supply them, the buyers, and even the innocent accounts caught in the crossfire. With this action, the gold sellers try new novel ways to sell gold and avoid detection. Despite that, we eventually get them which in turn is taking more time. Thank you to everyone who has reported bots, we investigate each and every one and does help us tremendously in keeping the server clean.

Gold sellers would not be so persistent without having identified a market here on Chromiecraft. There is no limit on what time frame a player will be viewed as ‘safe’ from action after buying gold – if you are found to have partaken in RMT no matter how long ago, your accounts will be permanently banned. If you are found to have participated in RMT, all your accounts are permanently banned from the server with no appeal. Investigations into this have been taking up staff time which could go be spent assisting the server in other ways. Insisting on breaking our rules around RMT is incredibly selfish and pushes back other work that needs to be done.

We are a small registered non-profit working to perfect AzerothCore, an open source project, purely for the love of the game and the community that has been built here.

To date we have now given permanent bans to 315 accounts for participating in RMT.

In terms of community action in August:

  • 104 accounts received permanent bans for the running of hacks, cheats &/or RMT.
  • 48 accounts received temporary bans for breaking our server rules.
  • 120 players received time outs and / or reminders of our chat rules.
  • 24 accounts had actions taken on them in relation to ninja looting.
  • 12 players are serving temporary bans for breaking our rules on multiboxing.

Please take the time to make yourself familiar with our rules.

We’ve also added extra protection for accounts that have been inactive for a long time.Credentials exposed in data breaches elsewhere are often collected into lists and tested against other services. This means that if you’ve reused the same login details on another server or website that was later compromised, someone may try those credentials here as well. To confirm, this isn’t a result of a breach on our side but against other server databases. The additional protection is simply intended to safeguard returning players whose credentials may have been exposed elsewhere without their knowledge. Compromised accounts can sometimes be used for activities such as gold selling, which is one of the reasons we’re introducing this additional safeguard. It’s another step in our ongoing efforts against gold sellers, making it harder for them to profit from compromised player accounts.

What this means for you: If your account has been inactive for a long time and a login triggers our security checks, you’ll see a red warning in-game and some features, such as mail, trading and the Auction House, will be temporarily unavailable. If that happens, simply open a ticket on Discord. We’ll verify that it’s really you and restore full access. If you’re playing regularly, nothing changes. You’ll most likely never notice the system is there. Coming back after a long break and worried about being flagged? Nothing to fear. Being flagged doesn’t mean you’ve done anything wrong or that your account has necessarily been compromised. At worst, you’ll need to open a quick ticket and we’ll sort it out.

As always, we strongly recommend using a unique password that you don’t reuse on other servers or services.
